Overview
Hiscox provides high value home insurance and unlimited home cover. This means whatever your home and content is worth, they will cover it. There is no limit to the total value they will pay to cover your claim.
Hiscox is on the expensive side but it’s perfect if you needed bespoke cover to insure your house and content.

What do you get with their ‘Unlimited Cover’
As well as Art, jewellery and collectables, Hiscox also cover all your precious or personal items. You only have to inform them of items in your home which is over £15 000. If they are below that, you do not have to list it.
If you get new items in your home, unless it is over £15 000, you don’t have to tell them. You are covered. You are also covered as you house increases in value.
Building insurance – what is covered
If your home cannot be lived in after a damage that Hiscox agrees to pay for. They will also pay for accommodation for you, your family and any pets for up to 3 years to the value of £150 000.
Hiscox’s building insurance also include garden cover for up to £25 000.
Content insurance – what is covered
Hiscox provide you with unlimited cover for your content, unless otherwise stated. Here are a list of some of items which are covered:
* Home furniture
* Your electronic goods, such as your computer and phone
* Painting and pictures
* Your carpets and your curtains
* Bicycles
Optional, home emergencies cover
Hiscox provide optional cover for home emergencies, so you don’t have to worry if you have boiler problems or a burst pipe. They are there 24 hours a day and will get a qualified and approved contractor out to you for a home emergency if you need it.
What is not covered with Hiscox home insurance
Some of the things which are not covered include:
- If your home is left unoccupied for 60 days and something happens, you are not covered by the insurance
- Damage caused by tear and wear or anything which happens gradually
- Any damage caused by any cleaning, restoration or renovation you have carried out
- Damage caused by subsidence or landslides

If you are looking for high end bespoke home insurance cover, then Hiscox is good option. They are on the expensive side, but will give you unlimited cover.
