Pockit was founded in 2014 and you can open an account on online or through the app in minutes.

It is a prepaid account and not a bank. Therefore, your money is not protected by the FSCS.

However, even though it’s not a bank, you do get banking facilities such as being able to pay by card and paying by direct debit.

You can add cash to you account at 28, 000 places, 7 days a week, for your convenience.

When you spend online or in stores, using your Pockit card, you can get cashback from your shopping.

  • Card for travel – Use your card around the world.
  • Card for sharing money – send money and share bill payments.

Card for every day use

With this card you can shop in stores or online. You can also easily withdraw cash from any ATM. When you want to top up your money, you can add cash easily at over 28, 000 places or through bank transfers.

You can also make up to £20 a month on cashback, when shopping using your card.

Card for travel

This card is for when you are travelling. You can use this card to withdraw cash easily around the world.

Card for sharing money

You can get an additional card from Pockit, so you can share money with anybody. If you would like to give a card to a member of your family, then you can by ordering an additional card.

You can transfer money to your additional card(s), from your main account, as many times as you would like.

Using an ATM in the UK to withdraw cash

0.99p per withdrawal (you can withdraw up to £250 at a time).

Using an ATM abroad to withdraw cash

To use an ATM abroad costs £2.25. In addition, you will have to pay 4% exchange rate fee (you can withdraw up to £250 at a time).

Adding cash onto the card

You can deposit cash onto your card at 28,oo0 PayPoint stores at a charge of £1.49.

Adding money by bank transfers or by a card

Free.

Pockit is not a bank, but a prepaid card. However, by using Pockit, you can build up your credit score. So, if you have bad credit history, over time you can improve this.

Also, because it is not a bank, you can join and deposit money, without a credit check or even if you have bad credit history.

If you are having difficulties opening a regular bank account. Then, opening a Pockit account will enable you to use it to pay for your bills, shopping and paying in your wages.

It is really easy to open, even if you don’t have a good credit history. However, it is not FSCS protected, so you should not be storing large amounts of money in the account. But, to use it for everyday banking.
