1. Barnsley
Overview
Barnsley is a large town in South Yorkshire. It is close to Manchester and Leeds. Although some parts of the town is deprived, there are lots of good neighbourhoods in Barnsley. 2. County Durham
Overview
County Durham has picturesque locations and borders a number of counties including Northumberland and North Yorkshire. It is amongst the cheapest places in the UK to rent. However, in a survey by Indeed, it was found to be amongst the hardest place to find work in the UK. However, there is economic regeneration and the area is attracting investments and businesses.

3. Aberdeen
Overview
Aberdeen is located in the north east of Scotland. It is situated about 90 miles from Edinburgh. There is also the University of Aberdeen located there, so it is a student city and the third most populated city in Scotland.
Job opportunities in Aberdeen is very competitive. However, the city is thriving due to investments coming into the city. The average salary in Aberdeen is £35K a year, so you could have a good standard of living with that salary. The rent is very cheap compared to some parts of the UK.
