How to collect Nectar points at Sainsbury’s
You can collect Nectar point when you shop in a Sainsbury’s store or when you shop online (exclusions apply on some products). You will need a Nectar card to collect Nectar points. Get a Nectar card, here: Nectar card.
Paying at the till
When you pay at the till at Sainsbury’s, just present your Nectar card to the member of staff and they will add your Nectar points on to your Nectar card.
Paying at self serving checkout
When you are paying at the self-service checkout, you will be given an opportunity to scan your Nectar card to add the Nectar points.

To collect Nectar points from Argos when you are shopping online, you have to link your Nectar card to your Sainsbury’s account.
By linking your Nectar card with your Sainsbury’s account, you can collect your Nectar points at the checkout stage.
How to link your Nectar card to your Sainsbury’s Account
To link your Nectar card to your Sainsbury’s Account:
- Log in to your Sainsbury’s account, here: Sainsbury’s Account.
(If you do not have an account, you can register for free.) - When you have signed in to your account, select ‘My Account‘.
- Then you have to go to ‘My Cards‘. .
- Then you have to click on ‘Add New Card‘.
(Add detail from your Nectar card. You will need your Nectar card number)
What are Nectar points worth at Sainsbury’s?
For every £1 you spend in Sainsbury’s, you will get 1 Nectar point.
Every 2 Nectar point is worth 1p. So, for every £2 you spend in Sainsbury’s, you will get a 1p worth of Nectar points.

100 Nectar points = 0.50P
500 Nectar points = £2.50p
1000 Nectar points = £5
5000 Nectar points = £25

How long does it take for collected Nectar points to show in my account?
It can take up to 48 hours for your Nectar points to show on your account. Any points collected from Bonus offers or special offers can take up to 28 days to show on your account.
How can you view you Nectar points
When you have registered with Sainsbury’s online, your Nectar points will show on top of your homepage. You can also see your points balance on your receipt, if you have scanned your Nectar card when paying.
