Record energy price increase in the UK
UK households will see a record increase in price rise for their energy. Energy prices are rising by 54%. This prices increase will start from April 2022 and will hit many households hard.
According to Ofsted, customers who are on default tariff will see an increase of £693 per year. This is worse for people on pre-pay meters will have an increase of £708 per year. This increase is the Price Cap that was set by Ofsted.
22 million customers
This price rise is expected to affect 22 million customers who has already seen a price rise in October 2021. The increase is blamed on global price rises for wholesale energy.
Increases in the price of wholesale energy has seen many energy companies in the UK go bankrupt. Leaving Ofsted to find new suppliers for thousands of customers.
